I'm an Oakland resident born and raised and I bleed silver and black. I even loved the raiders when they were in L.A. and since they returned in 95 I've gone to about 70% of the home games and have had season tickets for the last 2 years. I was there in 2002 befor the AFC Championship game when Metallica did a free show in the southside parking lot under the assummed name The South Shield. For the last 3 years it's been a tradition for me to arive @ The Coliseum around 10:30 draped in silver and black with a few sandwiches and a bottle of Flor de Cana ( Nicarguan Rum) and check out the bands playing in the south parking lot, then go to the north parking lot to dance to the D.J.s untill 12:30 then a I go to the 66mob tailgate to resite the Autumn Wind with the 66mob, then I go to the DJ both in front on the north side to sing "Volver Volver" ( a very well known Mexican song) with Raider Nana( elderly Mexican Lady who never misses a game) who sings on the microphone of her son in laws D.J. booth with the instrumental playing on the turn-table and about 30 members of the raidernation backing her up with our off-key vocals, Then I try to make it in for kick off. But the Oakland city counsle has taken most of this away from me. For the last few days my bother and I have been discussing what to do to restore the music to the tailgate. If we could get like 400 people to reach the Oaklnd city cousel then maybe we could chang this repressive city ordinance. The Hard part is organizing. I've looked for The 66mob's website to see if they are doing anything to bring our music back but have not found a website. If anyone has an ideas of how to attack his problem, if any booster clubs that are organizing, or if there is a good way to reach the oakland city counsel please contact me; Chris at cfrylopez@yahoo.comC.F.L.https://www.blogger.com/profile/03720746191312962387noreply@blogger.com
